My Mac and Cheese Boy

Dear Henry....

You are growing up so quickly now.  You can feed yourself and you have definite likes and dislikes.  Your Mommy calls you her Mac and Cheese boy because you like it a lot (so does Charlie!)

Your Daddy found out that you like beef jerky and spicy food.  He gave you some spicy Cheetos with peppers in them thinking you would spit them out but you surprised everyone and ate them and asked for more.

You like to share Diva's yogurt in the morning.  I usually make sure I have two spoons.  One for you because you will come sit in my lap and open your mouth like a baby bird for Diva's yogurt.

You seem to really like men so it has been nice that you want Poppa to feed you or sit with you while you are eating.  You call us ( Diva/Poppa ) one word for both.  You adore your brothers and try to do everything they do which is frustrating for the bigger boys when they are trying to build.

I am amazed by your blonde hair and your sweet smile.  We love you so very much.

XOXO

Happy Fall Y'all

Dearest Henry...

It's fall.  The leaves turn beautiful colors and start to fall off the trees.  The nights get cooler and apples and pumpkins start appearing at the grocery store.  Diva loves fall and your brothers love playing in the leaves.  They are excited to show you this wonderful annual event.

Look at my big boy sitting in the leaves.  You think they are pretty but found out quickly that they don't taste very good.  You did like throwing them and crunching them in your hand.

Charlie is demonstrating how much fun they are to run through!

I'm with Oz, tossing them in the air is even more fun.

It is so much fun watching you discover all these "firsts".  We love you so much and love to watch you explore the world around you.  There is a lot to discover Buddy.  Poppa has lots to explain to you and your big brothers will always be there to help too.   Happy Fall Y'all.

Where the Wild Things Are

Happy 8th Month Safari Birthday to Our Fearless Lion....

Your Mommy loves to create fun ways to celebrate you.  You are 8 months old now.  So Mommy decided that a Safari party would be a fun way to watch you grow.

Your Silly Diva is a Zebra and your Poppa is on Safari with his favorite hat and missionary pocket vest.   Did you notice the big snake crawling around Poppa's shoulder?  Watch out Poppa!

Mommy likes to get everybody in on the picture scene.  Charlie is a monkey and Oz has his tiger nose on.  Mommy has a animal print shirt on.

What is the perfect food for all the wild animals in the back yard?  Why animal crackers of course!  You really liked them now that you have some teeth.

Thank you for letting us be a small part in the wild crazy first year of our littlest "wild thing".  Know that we are always excited at all the new things you are learning and new words.  Diva loves your baby giggles....is there anything sweeter to a Diva's ear than laughter?

Mother's Day

Dearest Henry,

Today is your first Mother's Day.  A Sunday that is just to celebrate Mommas.  In church today there was a Parent Dedication.  Today your Mommy and Daddy asked everyone in Church to help encourage you and to help guide you as you grow.  You were given a blue Bible New Testament with your name engraved on it.  We pray that you will grow up to be a good and godly man like your Daddy, Poppa and Grandpa.  We were so happy to be a part of your dedication to the Lord.  We love you so very much and love to see you smile and giggle.  We praise Jesus that you are healthy and strong.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your first Mother's Day.
We also got to celebrate with you on your 4 month birthday.  Mommy had a cookie monster party for you.  Poppa and I made the Cookie garland for your pictures.  You are growing up so quickly.  We love being here with you and your brothers.  Your giggles make me laugh and I love your smiles.

Hooray, We get to visit.

Dearest Henry,

Look how big and healthy you are.  Poppa and I couldn't be happier to see you so healthy.  You seem to grow every day and it makes me sad that I can't see you more often.  This picture was taken before we all went to church this morning.  I love my boys and it was really hard to leave you. We love you so very much.

Learning from the best

Hello Darling Baby Henry

Your family moved to Tennessee just a few months before you were born.  Your very clever Daddy did all the work on your house with the help of Mommy and occasionally Poppa.  Your Daddy loves you so very much that he would hold you while still trying to work on the house so your dear Mommy could get some much needed rest.

So dear boy, don't ever think your Daddy doesn't love you.  You were always close to his heart even while he was caulking.

This is a picture of love in action.

My Poor Sick Boy

Dearest Henry,

This picture breaks my heart.  You are so small and in the hospital with RSV (respiratory virus).  They took an x-ray of your lungs and there is congestion in the right upper lobe.  You are wheezing and coughing .  You are getting breathing treatments.  Mommy is staying with you.  Please dear Jesus, touch our little Henry's body and bring healing.  Amen.
